RT8577 是4通道的 LED 驱动器，每个通道的输出能力高达 200mA 。它是一个输入电压范围为 9V~28V 、可通过 RT 引脚对工作频率进行 100kHz~1MHz 调节的电流模式 Boost 转换器。
其 PWM 输出电压调节回路选择 LED 串电压最高的通道的 LED 引脚作为电压回馈点并使之稳定在 0.6V ，藉此确保各通道 LED 串电压不一致的情况下仍能获得稳定的电流输出。RT8577 自动对各 LED 串进行开路、断路检测并自动断开有问题通道的电路连接以避免输出电压 VOUT 出现过压状况。各 LED 通道的电流可通过一只电阻进行设定，各通道之间的电流一致性误差在1.5%以内。通过将 PWM 信号施加在 PWM 引脚上可以获得具有极高对比度的真数字 PWM 调光效果。
当出现不正常状态如开路、短路和过热时，一个状态信号将被传送给系统以实现关机进行问题处理的机会。
